Membership

Membership in the Society

Active Member:
A person who has completed a training program or who has had twelve consecutive months experience in Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound, and who had obtained registration with the A.R.D.M.S. and maintains active status with the same and is employed as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or employed as a designated instructor of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound or employed as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in research.

Student Member:
A person enrolled in a recognized training program for Diagnostic Sonographers. The program must be such that it allows the applicant to write his/her sonographer's examinations (approved by the Society) within two (2) years of commencement of studies.

Associate Member:
A person who has not met the requirements for Active or Student Membership.
Physicians - a Physician involved in part, or in full-time Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
Commercial - a person who is working in a commercial capacity in the field of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
