Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Sonographer to join the Diagnostic/Ambulatory Program team at BC Women’s Hospital. You will perform a wide range of technical procedures that will ensure the highest quality of patient care as well as assist with research and teaching projects. Your mandate will include working with complex and routine cases such as detailed fetal assessment, fetal echocardiography, gynecological and abdominal ultrasound, and guidance for special procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villius sampling. You will also utilize M-Mode, B-Mode, Doppler Real Time, all recording systems, cameras, optical disk systems, and video recorders to obtain and establish a permanent record of examinations.

You are a graduate of an accredited health program in Radiography or Nuclear Medicine and have been trained in Diagnostic Ultrasound techniques and methods. At least one year of experience in a must and you should have expertise with gynecological/obstetrical physics and scanning. Current ARDMS or CARDUP registration in OBS/Gyn is required along with board eligibility with ARDMS, CSDMS membership, and registration in the specialties of OBS/GYN and Abdominal Sonography. You ideally have training in Adult Cardiac and Peripheral Vascular Doppler, and you will be expected to evidence a record of continuing education and training in your field. This role will appeal to an individual with strong technical skills and a focus on patient care and support.
